THEMAGIC5 at the Tokyo Olympic Games
With the Tokyo Olympic closing ceremonies behind us, we are proud to share the successes of both Jordan Wilimovsky & Jeanette Ottesen, both official THEMAGIC5 sponsored swimmers.
Ottesen, 33, represented Denmark in her 5th Olympic Games. She competed in the 4x100 meter freestyle relay, helping her team to advance to the championship final and eventually place 8th in the event- an improvement from the relay’s 12th place finish in Rio De Janeiro in 2016. Ottesen swam a time of 54.39. Ottesen, one of the most decorated female athletes in Denmark’s history, with over 50 international medals to her name, will likely retire from swimming after this Olympics in Tokyo. Congrats on an inspiring career, Jeanette!
Wilimovsky, 27, represented the United States in his second Olympic Games. In 2016, Wilimovsky was the first American swimmer to ever qualify for both a pool swimming and open water swimming event in the same Olympics. In Tokyo, water temperatures had already reached nearly 85 degrees F for the early-morning start time for the Men’s 10k Open Water Marathon. After nearly 2 hours of swimming, Wilimovsky placed 10th in a tight battle, finishing in a time of 1:51.40.2, with only a one-second spread between 6th and 10th place.
JORDAN'S PICK: BLUE MAGIC MIRROR GOLD
We are proud to have seen the culmination of our athlete’s hard work, on the biggest sporting stage in the world, especially after a trying couple of years. Thanks for inspiring THEMAGIC5 community!
