Olympic Gold Medalist Matt Grevers Joins THEMAGIC5 as Investor

You can tell by his face that Matt Grevers believes in THEMAGIC5. The six-time Olympic medalist and 15-year member of the US National Swim Team has the distinctive goggle tan lines to prove it.

Initially, a friend asked Grevers about THEMAGIC5 and the idea of custom goggles piqued Grevers' interest. “I ordered a pair and tried it on and I thought it was awesome,” Grevers says. “To find goggles that fit perfectly, it checks a box of relief for you. That’s what really drew me to THEMAGIC5: there’s no tinkering around or adjustments. The way you get it is the best way. It fits on you and that’s because it’s scanned to your face.”

As such an experienced and accomplished swimmer, Grevers knew the value of the technology right away but it wasn’t just about the benefits as an elite swimmer.  “I saw an older lady wearing three different types of goggles at the pool and she told me ‘I just can’t get these goggles to fit’. I had just tried THEMAGIC5 so I told her about them and that they guarantee they won’t leak. I saw her two weeks later and she thanked me. She didn’t hug me but it looked like she wanted to hug me,” Grevers laughs, “she was so excited that they fit and didn’t leak.”

Seeing the potential of THEMAGIC5 technology made him want to be involved beyond an athlete relationship to become a valuable equity partner. “I believe in their product and I believe I can have a positive impact to make their product more valuable and have more exposure,” Grevers says. “There’s a great need of this technology in the swimming world and then beyond. It's really limitless opportunities.”

Outside the pool, Grevers works in real estate and business investment. Bringing together swimming and business, Grevers says, “is the best of both worlds.” Grevers says swimming prepared him well for the business world and, as an experienced captain of Team USA, he knows the success of a great product comes from a great team behind it.

“THEMAGIC5 have the kind of qualities that I’m drawn to. Incredible, thoughtful people full of integrity that want the best for their product, the company, and their customers. Then they have this great technology on top of it. I see tremendous growth and opportunity in the swimming world and beyond. I want to be a part of that.”

AsWhich swimming stroke is the fastest?

Freestyle is the fastest competitive swimming stroke thanks to its streamlined body position, continuous arm movements, and efficient flutter kick. It is the preferred stroke for most sprint and distance events.

Butterfly generally burns the most calories because it requires continuous full-body movement, a powerful dolphin kick, and a high level of muscular effort throughout the swim.

Which swimming stroke is easiest to learn?

Many beginners start with breaststroke because its slower pace and natural breathing pattern make it easier to learn. Freestyle is also commonly introduced early since it forms the foundation for many swim training programs.

Why should I learn all four swimming strokes?

Learning multiple strokes improves overall swimming technique, develops different muscle groups, enhances coordination, and creates more balanced workouts. It also helps swimmers become more adaptable and confident in different swimming environments.
